Set Your Business Hours for Your Zoom Phone
Set Your Business Hours for Your Zoom Phone
General Info
Your Zoom phone allows you to specify what hours you're on the clock, allowing you set up custom call reception behavior in your off hours. For example, you can set different voicemail messages when you're on or off, or have calls forward to a different extension if you're off. This is set through your phone settings page, which you can reach by following this document: https://servicedesk.wvm.edu/support/solutions/articles/17000190439
Procedure
- In your Zoom phone settings page, scroll down to the Call Handling section.
- Look for the Business Hours field. By default, it will be set to 24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a Week. Click Edit next to it.
- Select Custom Hours, then set the days and hours to match your working hours. For example, this is how a Monday-Friday 9-5 would look:

- Once it's set up, click OK.
- After you've set your hours, you may notice the call handling section has now doubled. One half is for your settings for Business Hours, and the other half is a new one called Closed Hours.
- You can now change settings in just your business or closed hours, such as your voicemail message for each.
Tips
- This schedule does not allow you to input things like lunch breaks, so you should only use it to schedule times when you are fully off the clock.
- If you have recurring meetings at the start or end of certain days, you could schedule them as Closed hours so as to not be disturbed during those meetings.
- If your schedule changes (for example at the start of each new semester), be sure to update your Closed hours to reflect it.
